New Contributor Alert: Latitude IT

Latitude IT (www.latitudeit.com.au), co-founded by James Gildon and Alison Evans, has always pushed the boundaries of innovation in tech recruitment. During one of their groundbreaking “innovation days,” TechSalaries was born, with the mission of fostering collaboration among SMBs and tackling the gender pay gap in the tech industry. What began as an internal initiative at Latitude IT has now grown into TechSalaries (www.techsalaries.com.au), an independent company that is driving transparency and equality in tech recruitment across Australia.

The vision behind TechSalaries was simple but transformative: bringing recruitment companies together to share salary data, thereby promoting fair pay and helping reduce the gender pay gap. By aggregating real-time salary data across tech roles, TechSalaries empowers SMBs to compete on a level playing field, and it gives job seekers a clearer understanding of their value in the market.

Alison Evans, Co-Founder of Latitude IT, highlights the significance of salary transparency for women in tech:

“Transparency is the cornerstone of equality. When women in tech have access to clear, accurate salary information, they’re in a far stronger position to advocate for themselves. Platforms like TechSalaries are essential for leveling the playing field, ensuring women are paid what they’re worth and helping the industry close the gender pay gap.”

Through this collaborative approach, TechSalaries allows recruitment firms to contribute salary data, benefitting not only their clients but also candidates and other agencies. Latitude IT is proud to have pioneered this initiative, but today TechSalaries is run as an independent entity, ensuring it operates as a neutral and unbiased platform for the entire tech recruitment community.

James Gildon adds:

“At Latitude IT, we recognised early on that SMBs can drive change by working together. TechSalaries was built to bring agencies together as peers, not competitors, to tackle industry-wide issues like pay disparity. Seeing it grow into an independent platform that serves everyone in the recruitment sector has been incredibly rewarding.”

Today, Latitude IT continues to support TechSalaries as one of its many contributors, but the platform stands on its own, with a wide range of industry players sharing salary data to help move the tech industry forward. Together, they are contributing to a more transparent and equitable market for everyone.
